Richard Durand – Sweep and Repeat

Dutchman Richard Durand seems to be man of the moment for tech trance fans.

Fresh from the success of remixing Tiesto ‘Break My Fall’ and the huge hype around various other reworks such as Prodigy ‘Smack My Bitch Up’ comes this new solo effort on Terminal-4.
On ‘Sweep & Repeat’, Richard Durand gets back to basics to deliver an underground club cut that shakes, rattles and rolls its way to the same levels of dancefloor devastation as his big name remixes, but without a familiar sample in sight.

Drawing influence from trance, techno and electro sounds, ‘Sweep & Repeat’ is big and ballsy at the bottom end, yet driving with its delivery thanks to some savage synth riffs that are filtered and twisted into an unstoppable audio assault by the track’s peak.

Add to equation an imaginative arrangement, comfortable tempo and a reworked ‘Top Draw’ mix that adds a more melodic riff and vocal snippets and you’ve got a genre defying package that’s getting playlist support from leading DJs right across the dance spectrum.
